EN OUVERTURE

  Lancé sur l'internet en 2002 par Big Bang Art Inner Mouvement, BIG BANG FÄERIE est le premier web théâtre optique de l'histoire des arts numériques.

Créé après une formation aux nouvelles technologies de l'image attribuée aux artistes par la Délégation aux arts plastiques à l'Atelier-Image-Informatique de l'École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Paris, il utilise la technologie du GIF animé.

Le GIF, Graphics Interchange Format inventé en 1987 par CompuServe, en permettant de stocker plusieurs images dans un même fichier, est devenu dans les années 1990 le format animé du web.

Cette technologie ne nécessitait aucun téléchargement de plug-in pour le visiteur internaute, auquel était offert alors le spectacle d'un web théâtre optique entièrement gratuit et visible par tous, même sur un écran 14 pouces au fin fond du désert australien ou dans la nuit polaire arctique.

L'e-théâtre BIG BANG FÄERIE est l'héritier de la lanterne magique. Il renoue avec l'esprit du "physicien-aéronaute" Étienne-Gaspard Robert dit Robertson, scientifique et homme de spectacle qui, à la fin du XVIIIème siècle, invente le fantascope et projette devant un public effrayé ses tableaux fantastiques et ses apparitions spectrales édifiantes.
Il rend également hommage à Charles-Émile Reynaud, concepteur du praxinoscope et créateur des Pantomimes Lumineuses au Cabinet fantastique du Musée Grévin à Paris en 1892, qui fut le premier réalisateur de dessins animés.

  Launched on Internet in 2002 by Big Bang Inner Art Mouvement, BIG BANG FÄERIE is the first web optical theatre in the history of digital art.

Created after a training in the new technologies of images awarded to artists by the Visual Arts Division at the Atelier-Image-Informatique of the École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs of Paris, it uses the animated GIF technology.

GIF, Graphics Interchange Format invented in 1987 by CompuServe, in permitting to store many images in the same file, became in the 1990s the animated format of the web.

This technology did not require to download plugins for the Internet visitor to whom was then offered the show of a web optical theatre totally free and visible for everyone, even on a 14 inches screen in the very heart of the Australian desert or in the Arctic polar night.

The e-theatre BIG BANG FÄERIE is the heir of the magic lantern. It revives the spirit of the "physicist-aeronaut" Étienne-Gaspard Robert, alias Robertson, scientist and showman who, in the late eighteenth century, invents the Fantascope and projects before a scared audience its fantastic pictures and its edifying spectral apparitions.
It also pays tribute to Charles-Émile Reynaud, creator of the Praxinoscope and author of the Pantomimes Lumineuses, three animations projected in the Cabinet fantastique of the Musée Grévin in Paris in 1892. He is the first cartoonist.
